10 Tips To Get Back Your Energy

Over 40? Get fit and feel great. Thankfully, there are things you can do to increase your energy levels. There are many anti aging natural supplements. Here are ten tips to get back your energy:

Control stress.
Stress-induced emotions consume huge amounts of energy. Talking with a friend or relative, joining a support group, or seeing a counselor can all help you to deal with stress. There are other ways of relieving stress. My own stress busters are: music, horseback riding, taking a kid and my dogs for a walk, doing charity work. They all help me.

Do good deeds to others.
Incorporate some kind of “charity” work into your schedule. You will find the rewards tremendous, and it will actually give you an emotional boost. I do dog therapy visiting with my two dogs. Great stuff. I love it and my dogs love it

Eat for energy
It’s better to eat small meals and snacks every few hours than three large meals a day. This approach gives a steady supply of nutrients, which your brain and body needs.

Do not overwork yourself. Learn to ask for help.
One of the main reasons for fatigue is overwork. Overwork can include professional, family, and social obligations. Learn to prioritize! Search on the internet and get help with organizing your life’s work load. Do not put too much pressure on yourself. If you are a perfectionist then see if you can learn to control this character trait. . And, take time to smell the roses. Enjoy the journey.

Get Fit
Exercise almost guarantees that you’ll sleep more soundly. It also gives your cells more energy to burn and circulates oxygen. Exercising causes your body to regulate itself more efficiently. Even a brisk walk is a good start. I can fully vouch for this one. I started walking about one hour a day and my blood pressure went from 159/97 to 126/83 in two weeks. And, I feel much more energized.

Drink lots of water
If your body is short of fluids, one of the first signs is a feeling of fatigue. And, if you do not like the taste of just water, add a little pure fruit juice to it. It’s amazing what a little flavor can do to a glass of water.

Quit smoking
You know smoking threatens your health. But you may not know that smoking actually siphons off your energy by causing insomnia. The nicotine in tobacco is a stimulant. And once you do fall asleep, its addictive power can kick in and awaken you with cravings. And, I can attest to this also; it is the reason I finally stopped smoking over 10 years ago. I ended up with cigarette cravings in the middle of the night. One night I almost burned my bed. I woke just in time to prevent a fire. That was it for me!

Restrict your sleep
Determine how much sleep you really need. Lying awake can be stressful and frustrating. The following will show you how to calculate just how much sleep you need. I read this somewhere in a medical article

Avoid napping during day,
The first night, go to bed later than you would normally go and get just four hours of sleep. If you feel that you slept well during that four-hour period, add another 15–30 minutes of sleep the next night.
As long as you’re sleeping soundly the entire time you’re in bed, slowly keep adding sleep on successive nights.

Change your eating habits
Eating foods with a low glycemic index — whose sugars are absorbed slowly — will help you avoid the lag in energy that typically occurs after eating quickly absorbed. Foods with a low glycemic index include whole grains, high-fiber vegetables, nuts, and healthy oils such as olive oil. In general, high-carbohydrate foods have the highest glycemic indexes. Proteins and fats have glycemic indexes that are close to zero. I have been on a low glycemic load *index diet for the last two weeks also. I am diabetic, and this diet has helped my tremendously. If you do an internet search on glycemic diet you will find some fascinating information. Also, check out Dr. Barry Sears for anti aging natural supplements. This is one of his specialties.

Caffeine can help
Caffeine does help increase alertness, so having a cup of coffee can help sharpen your mind. But to get the energizing effects of caffeine, drink it at the right time. Not a few hours before bedtime.

Try not to drink alcohol in the daytime
Alcohol makes you tired. It causes fatigue. Actually, be very selective when and how much alcohol you consume. Go for flavored waters. It may seem boring, but, after you do this for a while you will feel so much better for it.

Many of us have to make a lifestyle changes. This change usually starts because of feelings of fatigue. We have no zip or energy. We want to feel the way we did 10 years ago. And, we can. I have started on a glycemic index *load diet two weeks ago. I am a diabetic so this works great. My blood pressure has already gone from 159/97 to 126/83 in two weeks. My sugars have also dropped considerably, although not yet at a level I am aiming for. But, without energy, it is difficult to embark on any new project, so get your energy levels back up, and you can tackle the rest of your lifestyle changes.

Check for natural remedies you may want to take to help you on your way. Do a search on anti aging natural supplements. The internet is full of information, study it. I use about 5 natural products. The products I use are not very expensive. I use cinnamon, omega 3, zinc, B6’s, and fiber. I also use “sea health” minerals. As I said, in two weeks, this has already made a huge difference. I also walk for one hour a day with my dogs.

10 Tips to Avoid the Holiday Bulge and Inner Thoughts About Them

Do you find it almost impossible to stay conscious and contentious about weight and nutrition during the holidays? Of course you do. More than half of all Americans are overweight. All American's are in this together.

You can take heart from a new government study which shows most Americans gain about a pound over the holiday. You're not alone. The study shows that during the holiday period, for the people in the study, two main things influenced the holiday weight gain: level of hunger and level of activity. Those who reported being less active or more hungry had the greatest weight gain.

If you can stay focused on dealing with just those two things, you'll probably win.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of weight gain," according to Dr. Samuel Klein. He is Director of the Center for Human Nutrition as Washington University in St. Louis, MO. "Preventing the increase in weight is a lot easier and better than actually gaining weight and then trying to get it off again."

The answer is simple. Eat less and exercise more.

The good news is that most of the people overestimate how much they had gained. Fewer than 10% gain 5 pounds or over.

The bad news is that although the one pound gained seems like a small amount, that weight WAS NOT LOST during the rest of the year and those single pounds accumulate over the years and add up to obesity.

Here are some helpful hints and tips put together by skinny people to help you avoid the tiny little weight watching issues you face during this joyous season [along with the thoughts going through weight watcher Wanda's head as she listened to the skinny people happily chirping out their advice. NOTE: Wanda isn't her real name.]

1)."You SHOULD stay active, darling. The best thing for you to do is to stick to your regular schedule and routine." [Routine? Wanda's family doesn't have no stinking routine in November and December. Wanda doesn't have no stinking time for her regular yoga classes, workouts at the gym, long dog walks, you ninny, because in addition to shopping, home decorating and cooking, Wanda has to take every one of the kids to EXTRA practices and activity for pageants, concerts and freaking fund raisers! Wanda's too ACTIVE to stay active, darling.]

2). "Don't let yourself get hungry. Don't arrive at the party starving. Be sure you eat your normal, healthy meals, especially breakfast. A protein rich breakfast "resets" the body and starts it off not hungry. Don't starve yourself, thinking you can "save up" calories. Fill up before the big holiday feasts with healthy vegetable snacks." [Normal? There ain't no stinking "normal" in November and December, and Wanda's not sure she ever has normal, healthy meals. She's got a life to run. Wanda doesn't't't know where YOU'RE having Thanksgiving, but Wanda's family's appetizer table has God's own Cheese Puffs and Ruffles with sour cream/onion dip, Brie on sourdough and 80 plates of cookies and bowls of peanut M&Ms on every available surface! There is nary a vegetable snack in sight.]

3) "How can you keep the pounds off at calorie rich parties? Stay away from the food! Literally ... stay on the other side of the room from the buffet table or appetizers tray. [Wanda liked this one. She'll just go plant herself in the bathroom and lock the door. Maybe she can find a place under the pile of coats in the back bedroom. A nap sounds nice.]

4). "Wear clothes which are slightly tight and your favorites. You'll think twice about the third helping if you can't let your belt out a notch. Always remember there's about 8 pounds between dress sizes." [What skinny sadist came up with this bright idea? Wanda bets she's a size 2, and hides an eating disorder!]

5). "Portion size is the real secret. Keep salad portions large and all other portions extra small. When it comes to sweets, think quality, not availability. Just because the candy corn is there doesn't mean you have to eat it. Don't be afraid to cut off "just a bite" of a high calorie treat. Put the rest back on the serving tray. If you're the hostess, pre-cut high calorie items into tiny portions to help your friends. Just a bite may be plenty to satisfy you. [Just a bite! Just a bite? Wanda's stressed to the max and darn it, Wanda DESERVES a candy treat ... and a WHOLE one. Heck, Wanda's double stressed, so she deserves ...]

6). "You don't need to be stressed. Take Time for You. Get a massage or a nice facial. Sit down and slip your shoes off." [Don't you know Wanda's facing a month and a half on shopping overdrive and the only place to sit down is at the mall's fast-food court? McDonald's doesn't have a massage spa. If Wanda slips her shoes off, she'll NEVER get them back on again, you fool.]

7). "Keep up your food diary ... every day of the holiday ... it will help you pinpoint your special weaknesses. Just one 150 calorie chocolate chip cookie each day will add up to an extra pound in only 3 weeks." [Wanda can't even find her food diary in chaos house. And, she really needed the information on the cookies. Thank you very much. Wanda just ate three, and she doesn't need any food diary to pinpoint this little weakness.]

8). "Only eat things you really want and care about. So what if your neighbor brought okra au gratin everyone's raving about? Use that space on your plate for a homemade roll, hot from the oven. Put real butter on it. Life is choices. Treat yourself to what you want and LEAVE THE REST IN THE SERVING DISH."[Good advice. How thankful do you think Wanda'd be after a feast of Brussels sprouts and tofu salad while she's passing the yams, potatoes and gravy to Aunt Lucille? Wanda bets Lucille's glad she got granddad's wiry build instead of those wonderful wide childbearing hips from grandma's "peasant" stock!]

9). Drink water instead of alcohol which has empty calories and lowers will power. Avoid sugary sodas which throw your metabolism into pendulum swings. [You didn't mention eggnog. Eggnog is OK, then, right?]

10). "Don't eat while you cook. Those little "tastes" can turn into 1000 calories before you've blinked." [Wanda just spent 304 hours in the kitchen, cooking. She HAS to taste everything before she serves it, or they'll hate it and won't love her any more. And besides, cookie dough doesn't have any calories, does it?]

Well, that's all 10 pieces of holiday advice. Here's just one parting thought from Wanda.

[Santa's fat and everybody loves him! The baby Jesus is fat, too. The turkey is so fat it can hardly stand up! Nobody buys a skinny Christmas tree, do they? Get a grip. Get a life. Have a HAPPY holiday.}

10 Tips That Will Stop Sleep Problems From Resulting In Falling School Grades

It has been believed for some time now that inadequate or poor quality sleep in teenagers leads to poor performance at school, but it was not until recently that a study confirmed that teenage children with poor sleeping habits do in fact suffer from lower grades.

Below are 10 tips to make sure that a healthy child enjoys the quality of sleep needed to do well in school.* Do not be tempted to take a nap in the afternoon after school. Should you find that you are so tired you are unable to keep your eyes open then take a nap but limit it to no more than an hour.* When it comes to bedtime see that the bedroom is quiet, dark and cool. Do not close the room up, turn up the heat and climb into bed to watch TV. Rather, lower the heat, open the window a bit if you can to allow in some fresh air and have the room as dark as possible.* Should you find that you are unable to get to sleep within approximately 15 or 20 minutes of climbing into bed then do not just lie in bed trying to get to sleep, because the more you try the harder it will get. Instead, get up and do something like listening to some relaxing music or reading a book. Once you start to feel tired, climb back into bed and you will be asleep in next to no time.* Although teenagers will often spend a lot of time in their bedroom and turn it into more of a 'living' than a 'sleeping' room, avoid the temptation to use the bed for anything other than sleeping. Do not sit in bed, writing, playing games, reading, watching TV or anything else but reserve it solely for sleeping so that your body learns to associate getting into bed with going to sleep.* Ensure that you get up at the same time each morning, whether or not it is a school day. Teenagers frequently have a lie-in at the weekends and during school holidays and, instead of helping to make you feel better, this simply disrupts your sleep pattern.* Avoid strenuous exercise within several hours of bedtime. If you wish to play soccer or engage in other sports or strenuous activities then make sure that you do these shortly after finishing school and not an two or three hours before you go to bed.* Steer clear of any type of drink containing caffeine after about 3 oclock in the afternoon. This of course applies to coffee and tea, but also includes chocolate drinks and colas.* Do not eat a heavy meal too close to bedtime. You certainly should not go to bed feeling hungry and taking a light snack prior to bedtime is okay, but climbing into bed on a full stomach can make it difficult for you to get to sleep and affect the quality of your sleep.* Set a regular time for going to bed and try not to vary this by more than a matter of a few minutes from one day to the next.* Do not be tempted to stay up late doing your homework or preparing for a test. Although this might seem like the solution to a specific problem in the short term, and may well keep you out of trouble for turning your homework in late or get you through a test, in the long term your performance will fall and any shorter term benefits will quickly disappear.

Follow these 10 tips and within next to no time the quality of your sleep will improve, you will feel more awake and active throughout the day and your school grades will be on the up.

10 Tips For Choosing Healthy Cosmetics And Personal Care Products.

The cosmetic and personal care product industry is a multi-billion dollar a year industry ... and growing. New products are coming onto the market every day.

Manufacturers play to your emotions in their advertising and packaging. They tell you their products will make you look more beautiful, younger, sexier and help you attract your perfect mate. They promise to erase blemishes, wrinkles, make your skin smoother and softer. In fact, any flaws that you see in yourself, real or imagined, there is most likely a product on the market that promises to fix it.

Can you believe all the claims you read or hear about these products? Is there really truth in advertising? Where do you find the answers to these questions? How can you really be sure that a product will do what the manufacturer says it will? And most importantly, how do you know that the products are healthy and safe to use?

Here are some things for you to look out for when choosing products you’re going to use on your skin:

1. Magazine and other print ads

They're designed to make you want to buy. They promise you radiant skin, a healthy glow, age-defying skin care, purity, safe and effective products made with natural ingredients. They make the product sound so good and good for you that you just want to go out and buy it. But don't buy yet. You need more information.

2. Radio and TV ads

In 30 seconds or less, you'll hear all the wonderful benefits you'll receive from choosing their products – softer, silkier, healthier hair; smoother, younger-looking skin and more. Manufacturers spend a lot of money trying to convince you to buy their products. Don't jump up and rush to the store after seeing or hearing one of their compelling ads. They're not telling you everything you need to know.

3. Celebrity endorsements

Companies pay celebrities a lot of money to endorse their products. They hope you'll think that because the celebs say wonderful things about their products, you'll want to use them too. Don't fall for this.

4. Samples in the mail

What better way to get you to try their product than to give you a little bit to test on yourself? You get to experience first hand how the product smells, feels, lathers, absorbs, etc. Now while you may like how it smells, performs and the result you get, you still don't have enough information to assess the health and safety of the product.

5. "Natural" on the label

This suggests that the product is made of ingredients from natural sources. However, there are no industry standards for what "natural" means. The product may contain all natural ingredients, just a few natural ingredients added to a synthetic product or no natural ingredients at all.

6. "Organic" on the label

Beware of products that claim to be 95%, 90% or some other high percentage organic on the label. According to cosmetic chemist Paul Lieber, it's physically impossible for more than 30-40% of the ingredients to be organic, unless it's organic oil. Why? Because typically 60-70% of a product is water and water cannot be certified organically grown, even if it's distilled or processed with organic herbs or essential oils.

7. Hypoallergenic

This doesn't mean the product won't cause allergic reactions. There are no standards defining hypoallergenic. It just means the manufacturer believes it's less likely to cause allergic reactions. In many cases, it's not even tested; only fragrances are removed.

8. Pretty labels

Manufacturers spend a lot of money designing labels to make you think their product is natural, herbal, healthy and will do amazing things if you use it. The truth is ... the information on the front of the label doesn't tell you anything about the health and safety of the ingredients inside the package. Don't base your decision on what's on the front of the label.

9. The ingredients list

This is the most important piece of information that you absolutely must read before you buy any product. The ingredient list is where you find out if the product really contains safe and healthy ingredients or not. This is not what the manufacturers wants you to read on their labels. That's why they make it so tiny you need a magnifying glass to read it. Buy one and carry it with you in your pocket or purse. Take it out when you're trying to read that microscopic print.

10. Incomplete ingredient lists

Many companies, because of increased consumer awareness of the ingredients in skin care products will list only the known herbal and healthy ingredients on their website or in their advertisements. If you don't read carefully, you may think that what they list is the complete list of ingredients in the product ... that is until you buy the product and read the full list of ingredients on the label. Beware of this deceptive practice.

Now, you may be wondering how you're supposed to know if the ingredients on the label are safe or not. Most of the ingredients are not listed in plain, understandable, everyday language. Well, you don't need to hire your own personal cosmetic chemist. There is a simple solution. Dying To Look Good is an easy-to-use book, written in plain, understandable language, that classifies ingredients in cosmetics and personal care products according to safety and lists products that are safe and healthy to use. If you check the ingredients on all product labels before you buy with the list of ingredients in Dying To Look Good, you will be able to confidently choose products that are safe and

HOW TO TREAT ADULT ACNE

Lots of people are unaware of the fact that adult acne exists and they seem not to know how to treat adult acne. People have this misconception that acne only happens during teenage years and gradually wears off as they age. For most people, this fact may be true but it is important to note that acne does not start during teenage years only. However, it is important to note that there are a significant number of adults that experience such condition.

There are lots of reasons why a person develops adult acne. But, it is important to take note that majority of the people that suffers from this condition are those who also experienced acne problems during their teens. It is also important to remember that the treatment for this is not the same when you were in your teens since your skin is already different from how it used to be. Because of this, here are some tips on how to treat adult acne.

Keep in mind that these procedures should be done using clean materials so it would be best to visit a reputable clinic.

3. Third, never squeeze your acne! A lot of adults have this desire to squeeze or prick their zits on their own which could cause further damage due to scars. Never ever do that because squeezing will only push the infection deep into the skin.

4. Fourth, eat healthy foods. In order to flush away toxins that could cause acne, you need to drink lots of water and eat fruits and vegetables. Keep in mind that well-hydrated skin has better chances to rejuvenate rather than dry skin. Also, try to live a healthy lifestyle by having a well-rested body. Keep in mind that stress is one of the causes of acne as well so it really pays if you get your eight-hours worth of sleep per day.

There are other tips that could help how to treat adult acne but these are some of the basic things that you need to follow. Try one tip after the other and surely, you will be able to find something that will work for you.

10 Tips for a Magnificent Memory

"Where did I leave my keys?" "What did I come in here for?" "Your glasses are on top of your head!"

Sound at all familiar?

Scientists and medical professionals say that as we age, our ability and capacity to remember things slowly declines. The speed at which we learn new things slows down as well.

If you're near or beyond the age of 50, you've probably experienced these small lapses a little more frequently. Don't worry. Recent research shows there are simple ways to enhance your memory and prevent age-related memory loss.

You may be thinking, "Who's got the time to play complicated games or listen to the latest memory guru?" The fact is that most of the following tips are small, common sense adjustments to your daily routine. Nothing earth shattering, but potentially life-changing.

1. Get enough sleep. Research conducted at the University of Pennsylvania concluded that missing just a few hours of sleep at night results in impaired memory and reaction times. Get at least 6 hours of sleep a night to keep your memory sharp.

2. Eat well to be well. We've heard that eating more fruits and vegetables takes care of all sorts of things ailing us. Now you can add keeping your brain healthy to that list too. Health professionals say diets containing high amounts of nutrient-rich foods such as whole grains, vegetables and fruits act to combat illnesses related to memory loss. Also, adding foods rich in omega-3 fats, such as fish, will help to keep bad cholesterol levels down, enhancing brain function.

3. Take your vitamins. Nutritional supplements are important if you're not getting enough nutrients from your diet. If you can't stand the idea of eating more fish, get your omega-3 fats in capsule form. According to research recently conducted by The National Research Council in Milan, Italy, the antioxidants in Vitamins C and E may protect against some forms of memory loss.

4. Exercise frequently and vigorously. Exercise doesn't have to mean anything more complicated than a brisk daily walk. A study carried out at the Salk Institute indicated that adding more exercise to your routine can make learning easier, as well as improving your memory. An active body keeps the brain active too.

5. Reduce stress. Stretching, physical activity, and relaxation exercises are great for reducing stress. The body releases cortisol when it's under stress. Cortisol shrinks brain memory centers, which in turn impairs memory function. A walk around the block and a few deep breaths can help keep your memory sharp.

6. Limit or eliminate alcohol, drugs, and smoking. Since memory loss can be a direct result of these substances, limiting them can improve memory. Many drugs, including both over-the-counter and prescription medications such as sleeping pills, antidepressants, allergy medications, and painkillers, can reduce memory function. Illnesses related to smoking are also associated with memory loss. The good news is: memory improves when you stop using these substances. Check with your doctor.

7. Keep your brain active and stimulated. Researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York suggest playing brain-stimulating games like cards or board games to reduce memory loss. Read, learn a language, dance, do crossword puzzles, or even take a class. Don't let your brain get lazy. Just as you exercise your body, so must you exercise your brain.

8. Get organized. Always keep the things you use daily, like your keys and glasses, in the same place. Make lists of things you need to do or remember and keep that list with you. A small calendar or even a notebook can help you stay organized.

9. Visualize, verbalize, and believe you can remember things. One important tip is to simply pay attention. Watch yourself put your keys down, tell yourself where you are putting them, and then reinforce it by believing you will remember where they are. Actively paying attention and being present is simple and timesaving.

10. Make sure you're healthy. Many illnesses and infections can weaken your memory, including depression, thyroid disease, diabetes, and meningitis.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to boosting your memory. Declining memory doesn't have to be part of the aging process. Simply taking care of your body, instituting a few lifestyle changes, and paying attention can work

10 Things To Look For When You Buy Hoodia Diet Pills

For many years dieters have been looking for a weight loss supplement to help them lose weight. Unfortunately, most have failed to live up to their high expectations - until now. Hoodia diet pills are some of the most popular diet supplements on the market today.

Like all supplements, however, hoodia diet pills are not regulated. Companies can make virtually any claims about their products so it is very important to be informed and to know what to look for when you are ready to buy hoodia.

Not all hoodia supplements are the same. In order for them to be an effective appetite suppressant, you need to buy hoodia diet pills that contain authentic hoodia gordonii. There are a lot of scams on the Internet with most of the products containing very little hoodia gordonii - if any at all. Here are ten things to look for so that you don't get scammed.

Independent Lab Testing
Reputable companies will allow for ongoing random and anonymous testing of their supplements by an independent lab. They will also provide documentation of their lab test results on their websites. If you can't find any evidence of lab testing, then that's a red flag. You should research the company further before making a purchase of their products.

Contain Only Hoodia Gordonii
Look for hoodia diet pills that contain 100% authentic hoodia gordonii. Read the labels carefully and avoid products that have unnecessary fillers, additives, or stimulants.

Look For the Word None
When you are looking to buy hoodia supplements, none, is an important word. Look carefully at the label when comparing hoodia products and pay close attention to the "other ingredients." The best hoodia weight loss diet pills will have no other ingredients listed. You should only see the word, none.

Origin of the Hoodia
Hoodia gordonii has grown wild in the Kalahari Desert for centuries and it is the most potent hoodia harvested. If it comes from any other place, chances are you are not getting authentic hoodia gordonii.

Know Your Hoodia Varieties
Hoodia is a cactus-like plant, known technically as a succulent, and there are 13 varieties. Only the hoodia gordonii variety has the appetite suppressant qualities. None of the other varieties have an effect on appetite. Do not buy hoodia supplements with any other variety.

How the Hoodia is Processed
Only the peeled stem of the hoodia plant contains the active ingredient, P57, responsible for suppressing appetite. The best diet pills will contain only the biologically active part of the plant, with no fillers or the inactive stems, flowers, and roots. Look for companies whose products only use the peeled stem.

Potency of the Hoodia Used
In order to reach maximum potency, this treasured succulent must be carefully cultivated for at least 3 1/2 years. Immature plants will not be as potent. Try to find out how long the plant is cultivated before it is harvested and processed. Only the best companies will provide details on how their hoodia is cultivated and processed.

Avoid Cheap Hoodia Diet Pills
Authentic hoodia gordonii is scarce because there is a limited supply and a very high demand for it. A kilo of the hoodia plant costs well over $250 compared to just $18 a kilo just a few years ago. It is very expensive and continues to go up in price.

Genuine hoodia gordonii diet pills average around $60 per bottle so if the deal sounds too good to be true, chances are it is. It goes without saying to avoid any company that offers free trials. It is just too expensive to give away for free.

Look for CITES Certificates
A valid CITES certificate is legally required for companies who wish to export hoodia gordonii from South Africa. Only a handful of companies have these certificates. Those that do will display them on their websites. If you can't find a certificate or if you can't clearly read the certificate online (fakes are easy to spot as they are usually blurred), then they don't use authentic hoodia gordonii in their products.

Be Cautious of Consumer Advocate Websites
When you buy hoodia online you'll see numerous websites that proclaim to be "independent hoodia researchers" or "hoodia experts." Most of these sites are often set up with the sole purpose of selling their own products. They'll provide detailed reviews and "research" on all the various hoodia diet pills on the market and then will conveniently recommend their own products.

By following these ten simple tips, you'll be assured to find a hoodia diet pill that works!

Find out the best places to buy hoodia where you won't get scammed. Visit Travis Van Slooten's website,http://www.hoodiaandweightloss.com, where he has written extensively on hoodia and weight loss.

10 Things to know about Pain Reliever Drugs Abuse

A disturbing fact sheet…

Pain relievers are medicines that reduce or relieve headaches, sore muscles, arthritis or related aches and pains. There are many different pain reliever drugs. While some of them are prescription drugs, yet many of these are available over-the-counter (OTC) e.g. aspirin, naproxen (Aleve) & ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) etc. Many such non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs are available only at prescribed doses. Some of the most powerful pain relievers come under the category of narcotics.

In the United States, data generated by some recent surveys on drug abuse is quite disturbing. Data from the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse found that almost 3 million adolescents and about 7 million young adults from ages 18 to 25 had used prescription drugs for non-medical purposes at least once in their lives.

Today teenagers are not using as much cocaine, crack, LSD, and ecstasy as the teenagers of the 1960’s. Nowadays, kids have found other ways and means to get that high; painkillers & other prescription drugs are being abused at record levels as is aptly indicated in NSDUH data. This up coming generation of prescription drug abusers has been given the name “Generation Rx!”

Increase in prescription drug abuse is most prominent for pain relievers, but use of stimulants and tranquilizers is also rising as young people who abuse prescription drugs are also more likely to use illegal drugs, such as marijuana, cocaine, or hallucinogens. According to a 2005 study conducted by the National Center of Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, the number of Americans who abuse or use prescription drugs illegally now exceeds the number of Americans who abuse cocaine, hallucinogens, inhalants, and heroin combined.

Abusers sometimes disrupt the time-release formula of the drug to speed up absorption, often chewing the tablets, crushing them and snorting the powder, or dissolving them in water and injecting the drug to get a fast high. This may cause adverse set of cross-reactions and may prove fatal as in the rural areas of the Eastern United States, especially in Virginia and West Virginia where several deaths have resulted due to mixing of Oxycontin with other painkillers, alcohol, and marijuana.

Pain reliever drugs can affect regions of the brain that mediate what we perceive as pleasure, resulting in the initial euphoria that many opioids produce. They can also produce drowsiness, constipation, and, depending upon the amount taken, depress breathing. Taking a large single dose could cause severe respiratory depression or death.

Some people mistakenly think that prescription drugs are more powerful because you need a prescription for them. However, it's possible to abuse or become addicted to over-the-counter (OTC) pain killer medications too.

The dangers of prescription drug abuse can be made even worse if people take drugs in a way they aren't supposed to. Ritalin may seem harmless because it's prescribed even for little kids with ADHD but when a person snorts or injects Ritalin, it can be serious. Same holds true for most of the pain reliever drugs too.

Some points to prevent the abuse of prescription drugs:

•Always follow medication directions carefully.
•Don't increase or decrease doses without talking with your doctor.
•Don't stop taking medication on your own.
•Don't crush or break pills.
•Be clear about the drug's effects on driving and other daily tasks.
•Learn about the drug's potential interactions with alcohol, other prescription medicines, and over-the-counter medicines.
•Inform your doctor about your past history of substance abuse.

10 Steps To Help You Get Out Of The Pits

MAKES USE OF YOUR FRIENDS. THEY ARE GOLDMINES
Don’t hesitate to ask your friends for help. It's amazing how much help a true friend can be. If you ask for help, do not get angry at what they say to you. A true friend must be able to tell you what they feel. Listen to their advice; remember, in the end, it is up to you to decide what is good for YOU. And, make sure your friends really are friends. Friends are people who want to help you rise up. Friends take pleasure in your accomplishments. Every person we associate with, even in a friendly way, is not necessarily our friend. Learn to tell the difference. It takes motivation to reach for a higher level of friendship and relationships.

Feel good about yourself.
Are you poor? Are you troubled? So what! These are circumstances only. Circumstances are changeable. Who YOU are is not changeable. Be the same person...whether you are poor, rich, healthy, or sick. Circumstances brought you to where you are; character is WHO you are. Do not allow your circumstances to dictate who you are. Know when to seek professional help. There is a difference in being depressed, and having clinical depression. Know when to seek self help, and when to seek professional help.

Confront your demons, demand respect.
Face the circumstances that are bringing you down and depressing you. Money trouble? Make arrangements for credit counseling. Relationship problems? There are many self help groups or books or organizations that can help you. Try and stay away from the many "chat rooms" or email lists that deal with topics that are bringing you down. (Unless they are truly helpful and informational). Many times people who are in the same circumstances as you will only keep you down, or bring you down further. If you want to rise up out of your circumstances look to a higher level of relationships. For instance if you are jobless, do not join an unemployed chat room, instead, join a “how I found work” type of chat room. You will pick up great tips from those who have achieved success...

Always focus on who you want to be...then create the circumstances to arrive there.
If you can see yourself rise up in life, then you CAN rise up in life. The first step is always to recognize your own potential. The second step is to seek the help you need to achieve this potential. There is much self help material available to you.

Treat yourself with respect. Treat others with respect. Learn to love yourself. You know who you are today, and who you want to become tomorrow. Love THAT person. If you can do this then others will also respect you.

Feel good about yourself no matter how down you are.

Visit the elderly, the sick and the lonely. If you own a friendly, happy dog, see about becoming a "dog therapy visitor". This will bring you so much joy. I know, I have 2 dogs that I go visiting the seniors with. If you can bring joy into your life it is already a first step to rid yourself of depression.

Upgrade yourself, take lessons. There are many free courses available. Always keep learning, expand your mind.

Make a plan. Write a "goal sheet" for yourself. Who do you want to become. What do you really want to do? What would make you happy? If you know where you want to go it is easy to map out a way to get there.

Don't let your faults get you down; they are part of who you are. Learn to live with them and manage them. As my good friend always says...you cannot grow out of your own skin. Be comfortable with who you are.

There is a lot of self help material available on the internet. Material such as: Anger Management. Help for Depression and Anxiety. Stress and Fear Management. There are work books or one on one sessions or group sessions. There is help for adults, children and teens. It is out there for you.

A Short Story. There once was a person, a very depressed person, who had fallen deep into an emotional pit. Along came a doctor. The doctor wrote a prescription and tossed it down to this person.

Then, along came a pastor. He also recognized this person's condition and gave him a bible text word, and threw it down to him.

A neighbour walked by, and shouted words of encouragement.

And then, along came a friend. This friend jumped right down into the pit with him. All the others said what a fool he was; now they will both be stuck there with no way out.

The friend's answer: "I can show my friend the way out because I have been here myself"

4 Advantages of Healthy Living

You don't have to be an expert to live a healthy living. The guidelines for living healthy are relatively simple. Where people go wrong is that they fail to stick to them. This should come as no surprise though, especially when you consider all of the unhealthy food choices society has to offer that can derail even the healthiest of lifestyles.

The only way to avoid these temptations is through the use of will-power. You have to be able to tell yourself NO. However, we all have moments of weakness when we want to stray from our healthy lifestyle. But the next time these moments arrive to interrupt your life, remind yourself of the following advantages you have over others because you're healthy.

Advantage of Healthy Living #1: Energy

Having more energy is an advantage that often goes overlooked because it's just not easily noticeable. If you take a moment to think about it though, you'll notice that you actually do have a lot more energy throughout the day. You don't find yourself slowing down at work, and you even have plenty of energy left to exercise after getting back home. Having this extra energy has the benefit of keeping you from settling down on the couch for long periods, and instead gets you up and active, and thus, allowing you to burn more calories.

Advantage of Healthy Living #2: Stamina

If you're out of shape and living an unhealthy life style, then you probably get reminded of this every time you walk up a flight of stairs or have to do any time of activity that gets your heart rate moving faster. When you're healthy, rather than feeling winded after a walk up a flight of stairs you actually feel good, and most likely don't even notice the effort. Having stamina also mean having great sex as well, and should be inspiration enough to start living better.

Advantage of Healthy Living #3: Being slim

It's never been fashionable to be overweight and there's no indication that it will be anytime soon. When you live a healthy life style, one with proper diet and exercise, you maintain a healthy and slim weight. But even better, finding clothes that fit properly will be hassle free. In addition, you won't have the added concern of worrying about out-growing them in the waist.

Advantage of Healthy Living #4: Not getting sick

People who live healthy lifestyles have stronger immune systems and a stronger ability to fight off disease. In addition, if they have to have surgery, their chances of coming through it successfully are nearly double that of an unhealthy person for the same reasons mention, as well as the fact that the surgeon won't have the extra task of cutting through too many layers of fat tissue.

The advantages listed above essentially speak for themselves when it comes to deciding to live healthy. But if you're on the fence, you may want to consider that living a healthy lifestyle is attributed as the biggest reason people live long lives. Imagine being able to add an extra 10 years to your life span. Imagine it, then decide what you would do with it, and then change your life to reach that goal. Defy the odds by living a healthy lifestyle.

3 Tips on Choosing the Right Perfume for Yourself-00-5320

With the thousands of fragrances in the market, it can sometimes be tricky to choose the one that is perfect for your taste, personality, the occasion, and other factors. Check out the following basic tips that you may find useful when choosing and even wearing the perfect perfume for you.

1. Determine your budget.

Perfumes are priced in a very big range, from very inexpensive colognes to luxurious designer brands. Determining your budget or the money you are prepared to spend beforehand will help narrow down the choices and will save you a lot of time.

2. Know what particular smell you want and go for it.

Decide on what type of fragrance you want based on what use the perfume would be to you. For instance, is it for special occasions? Is it to please or seduce a lover? Is it for everyday wash and wear? If you plan to please someone, make sure to research on the particular fragrances he or she likes. If you want it to be an everyday whiff you can wear to work or school, you may want to buy a lighter and fresher scent. If it’s for big parties and formal events, choose a perfume that makes a stronger impact by blending well with your body chemistry.

Other factors like the weather or season are also important to consider. For instance, if you live in a very humid setting, floral fragrances with a woody or musky base often complement the sultry weather. If you’re often surrounded by a lot of people in near proximity, don’t choose a very strong perfume because not everyone likes perfume. Citrus, sea breeze and other herb and floral fragrances are often fresh and rejuvenating, perfect for someone always on the go. If you will be out on a date and want to heighten the romance, choose a scent that is a bit stronger but not overpowering. Usually oriental spices project confidence and sophistication. Meanwhile, aromatic blends are perfect for men who like to smell like a true man exuding with machismo and security.

3. Examine carefully before buying.

When you’ve finally narrowed down your choices and you’re ready to go to a perfume shop, don’t forget to carefully examine each perfume you fancy before getting ahead of yourself and purchasing. Take note that your nose can only handle so much and testing 20 perfumes consecutively will prove to be futile. Before you start spraying a perfume on your wrist, spray it first on a card or paper and decide if you like it. If not, move on to the next. Once you find a scent you think is perfect, start testing it on your body. Apply a small amount on your wrist or at the back of your arm. Sometimes the saleslady will offer to apply some in her own skin and have you smell it. This is a no-no because each of us reacts to perfumes in different ways. Make sure the perfume is perfect for you by putting it on your own skin. Wait for a few minutes because fragrances start to grow on you and smell different after a while.

3 easy steps to get that perfect tan using self tanning sprays-00-5661

Traditional tanning methods have become less popular these days because of major health risks. Because of this major finding in tanning several companies have provided tanning creams, lotions and spray to get a tanned skin even without the help of tanning beds or the sun. Most people prefer this type of artificial tanning since there is no significant health risk and the only damage a person may get from them is if their skins are too sensitive and the application may cause some allergy.

Among these innovations the one that is gaining the most popularity is the self tanning spray. This easy to use product is sprayed evenly on the skin and then all you have to do is wait for it to dry. Tanning products contain a chemical called dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This chemical acts an agent that triggers the amino acids in the skin to produce a great tan. Tanning products has been recognized by many as safe and effective and does not produce the great risk that traditional and tanning beds have. Applying a tanning spray is pretty easy, but there are some things that you need to know to achieve that perfect even tan. Here are five things that you should remember when you apply one.

Prepare your skin

Before you apply a tanning spray, make sure that your skin can handle the formulation. Read the instructions carefully and then apply a small amount of the spray in your body and wait for any allergic reactions or discoloration. In this way you can check the quality of the tanning spray and you reduce the risk of hurting your skin.

It is best that you remove all the dead skin cells in your body so that the spray will be more effective. The reason behind is that tanning sprays usually “stick” to the outer layer of your skin. So if your dead skin cells are still in your body, they will be ones that gets tanned, and your tan will not last long. Aside from this, healthy skin cells are very receptive to the tannig sprays and would hold them longer. Scrub your whole body using a loofah or any other scrub and make sure that you exfoliate your whole body especially the exposed parts.

Aside from scrubbing your body, be sure to apply a moisturizer a few hours before you apply your tanning spray. This softens your skin and it becomes more receptive, therefore making your tan last longer and absorbing it better.

Application strategies

Wear dark clothing because the spray sometimes discolors them. Aside from this, make sure that you have a pair of gloves that you can use to avoid discoloration in your hands. Although some prefer to use their hands to evenly apply the spray. Just be sure that you wash your hands right away after application to avoid further discoloration.

When you start spraying your body be sure to apply the tanning spray evenly. Prepare a towel or tissue to wipe off drips and make sure that you apply the spray in covered areas like the back of your ears to achieve and even color.

Final reminders

Make sure that you have evenly applied the spray, and make necessary adjustments if you find any discoloration. Stand still for about a minute to avoid dripping and uneven application. It is crucial that you do not move especially your joints since these areas can easily remove the application. Be sure to follow the instructions given in your kit and do not forget to apply a sun screen when you go out. Most tanning sprays contain a sun screen protection formula but it is best to apply it separately to ensure safety.

These three steps will give you that perfect tan you have been dreaming about. Just be sure to follow these reminders and all you have to do next is to find that perfect clothing that goes with your new tanned look.

15 Tips On How To Pick The Best Coat

Cruella De Ville must have hit some fashion nerve when she puts on her marvelous fur coat. But we are no Cruella De Ville's and because of highly revered designers we have now, we don't have to kill all 101 Dalmatians to make an impression with an overcoat.

You might also want to think twice in putting on those lavish furs she has. A coat is a necessity in the winter season but with just the right amount of being finicky and some sense of style we might just turn this old timer outfit to a fashion statement.

Here are some tips on choosing the best coat.

1. First off, assess your figure.

2. Highlight a good curve with double breasted coat or choose a design where you can overlie the coat and produce a v-neck style.

3. If you are blessed with great hips, accentuate it with a chic shawl coat. Try fur coats that would highlight your hips.

4. On a full breasted figure a turtleneck coat would look formal and sleek; it will make your breast appear an inch or so less.

5. For women more on the petite side do away from bulky coat as it would make you appear shorter. Choose a single-breasted cut coat. Keep it simple and elegant.

6. You can fake an unfavorable figure by choosing a waterfall coat that would just fall down stylishly away from the problem spots.

7. If you go for the classic look, you would never go wrong with black or khaki trench coats over some pair of jeans

8. Your daily activities would also dictate on which coat to pick. Knee length overcoats are best when you drive or if you are more of the always-on-the-go type. Though mid-thigh cut would flatter a tall figure knee lengths thigh is more practical.

9. Aside from the style, coats are primarily made to keep us warm. Thanks for Thinsulate technology, we can now junk the bulky and thick coats and go for coats of synthetic material with slimmer fit with more varied style to choose from. They still provide the same warmth big coats do.

10. In addition with woolen coats they are a wide variety of fiber you can choose from. You can prefer viscose, polyester or plaid for inside linings. Suede and leather exteriors would also do to cope with the winter season.

11. In addition to your well-picked coat you can accessorize by putting on a suitable hat, hand warmers or gloves. Just remember that these should all go with the over-all color scheme or style of your coat.

12. For bargain hunters, you can always opt to shop during the springtime when coats are sold the cheapest.

13. Maintain the condition of your fur by dry cleaning them. Never put them in the washer. Proper storage could keep your coats for a lifetime. Closets should have proper air circulation, preferably 50F humidity to give the coats just the right amount of moisture.

14. Invest your hard earned money to quality clothes. Be practical, choose a durable coat (remember good quality doesn't always come with a high price tag) that suits your taste which you can wear even for the next winter season.

15. Finally, a good fit is always the standard factor in choosing the best outfit. Be sure there is no awkward space between you and your coat.

When finally deciding on which coat to buy keep in mind that the style you should pick exudes your taste and personality.

Then all other factors come second, including the quality of the coat, the comfort and fit, and lastly its price. So now, for sure, you'll figure out which coat is best for you. Go get yourself a coat and strut your stuff!
